Woody and The Liquid Kitchen crew brought liquid love to the Sydney HIA Home Show in early May with the launch of the Woody’s Liquid Kitchen Cocktail Kit.

The kit is packed with everything you need to shake, strain and muddle a delicious drop in your own liquid kitchen. Also included is your choice of book and a loot of mini bottles of spirits and juices to keep you happy well into the wee hours of the morning.

5 minute cocktail classes were the go on the day. Punters found themselves on the other side of the bar smashing out their first margarita and mixing it up with the best of them, in front of a cheering crowd.

Angostura International

Bartender Challenge

Woody found himself on the other side of the bar as he headed up the panel of judges at this year’s Angostura International Bartender Challenge. Twenty of Australia’s most talented bartenders battled it out, competing to represent Australia at the World challenge in Trinidad and Tobago later this year.

Drinks were flowing and the heated competition made choosing the  top contestant a tough decision.  The judges narrowing the field down to the top 3, the final decision was thrown to the audience to crown the winner.

In the final show down, Zdenek Kastanek from Bayswater Brasserie, Sydney took out the prize with his delicious cocktails and stella performance.

A favourite and frequenetly visited Blue Mountains Hotel School  played host to the ever inspiring Woody as he flaired and mixed drinks for the upcoming stars of the hospitality scene. Woody, having been in the industry for over 2 decades, combined fun and enlightenment with personal experience and knowledge when discussing an array of related topics... and of course, served up some of the world's best cocktail!

Leonie of Hornsby Heights, NSW, was the lucky winner of Woody's Cocktail Competition run at the Sydney Good Food & Wine Show in June. Leonie and 14 of her friends had the worldy Woody in the comfort of their lounge room mixing it up! The party, decked out in an Arabian theme, had Turkish Iced Teas, Morrocan Orange Oasis' and Ciro Mojitos flowing. Congratulations Leonie!

The Hospitality Standards Institute decided to treat their students and surrounding industry people to a real treat when they invited 150+ people to attend a Master Class hosted by bartender to the rich and famous, Hayden Wood! Held at the beautiful Wairakei Resort in Taupo, guests were not only treated to Woody’s flair fantasia but also to a good dose of reality as he spoke on relative business issues.
