A whirlwind 3 days at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre saw 51,000 visitors step through the door and make their way to the Beverage Theatre to check out a bevy of Australia’s finest drops. From latte art to beer and wine tasting and finally Woody’s cocktail showdown winding-up each day with a climactic shower of cognac for the first 5 rows of the teeming audience.

The Liquid Kitchen was bursting at the seams with the new ‘make cocktails not war’ kits going home with hordes of happy folk who will be making friends and influencing people in their own liquid kitchens for many soirees to come.

Woody’s Liquid Kitchen road show is heading to the Brisbane Good Food and Wine Show in early November 2008 and will be spreading liquid love with the sunshine state.  The road show will then board a jet bound for the Cleveland Fabulous Food Show where Woody will be a featured international guest and  showing them how we shake it up Downunder.

GIG REVIEW

The Liquid Kitchen Cocktail Team Builder

The evening started off on the right foot with guests forgetting the work day stresses as they sipped on some classic cocktails.

After a few rounds, guests were treated to a flair cocktail demonstration where they learned all the necessary skills to pull together a tasty drink. Guests then retreated to 10  tables  fitted  out  with  spirits,

liqueurs, sugar syrups, fresh fruit and bartending equipment where they began their cocktail shaking madness.

At the tables, groups experiment with different cocktail flavours and methods, all the while sharing laughs and getting to know one another in a casual atmosphere. The groups were challenged to create, name and present their best cocktail in a Liquid Kitchen Cocktail Competition. Many a decent cocktail could be tasted, and teams proudly shook their booties and their cocktails to the hysterical audience.

The cocktails were judged by Woody and his team of bartenders and given points for performance, taste, appearance and name. The winning team walked away with a loot of goodies including Woody’s Liquid Kitchen recipe books.

We may very well have created many future at home cocktail artists, but the biggest success was held by the guests who certainly had a blast chatting and shaking up their best efforts.
